Establishing the GenAI function at a European construction and AEC software company. First appointment to this role. Member of the AI Decision Board. Approx. 7 engineers on the agentic AI team downstream of the use cases I define. Serving VDC, CDE and Contracts.

• Shipped AI-driven contract variation analysis, the company's first production agentic AI capability.
• Work directly with customers to surface pain points and translate them into agentic AI use cases and technical specifications.

Technologies:

Hilti builds smart tools and the digital services around them. I held architectural ownership of the industrial IoT platform, end to end, from the tool on the construction site through gateway and cloud to the customer-facing service, with more than a million connected devices in the field.

• Owned the 3 to 5 year technical roadmap for the full IoT chain, device to service.
• Ran two external delivery partners against roughly 750k EUR of budget, from vendor selection through to approving payments, with 10 to 15 engineers downstream.
• Cut CloudWatch and Lambda spend by more than 20 percent by archiving cold logs to S3 and reworking Lambda memory profiles and code paths, while the fleet kept growing.
• Replaced a VM-based HSM with AWS KMS and introduced end-to-end traceability for IoT messages across the chain.
• Built a GenAI support agent that connects to a live device over WebSocket, runs diagnostics, and summarises its error logs for the support team using RAG over the product documentation.
• Worked with C-level stakeholders on digital transformation in construction: IoT, data analytics and AI.

Working with a team to extend and maintain the backend system of Germany's on of the first and largest video on demand portals www.maxdome.de The company belongs to the well known ProSieben-Sat1 Media group. Here i am a member of the team which develops, maintains and supports the backend Java EE services essential to maxdome. We have mainly spring, hibernate based application which provides backend service like authentication, customer support, billing, age verification, document storage etc. I am specifically involved in extending and maintaining the customer support services and performance testing and performance tuning of the whole stack.
